A WOC Space is here for all of it!

Diversity and Inclusion is the problem, yet solutions are left to be desired. Many diversity workshops are taught by a non-diverse white company, focused on recruiting, but lacking efforts to retain diversity. As individuals, we consistently lowered our bar of expectations when it came to change after sitting in countless hours of “box-checking” D & I workshops. We decided enough was enough and founded A WOC Space! Focused on changing the cultural climate for Women Of Color (WOC) in the workplace, we provide accessible tools to create and maintain an equitable, productive and inclusive workforce.  

We are a women led organization and we are here to advocate, protect, and support our Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) community, specifically WOC so we are heard and not left behind. During our time in and out of graduate school, we questioned our role and place in STEM purely because of the negative interactions that we experienced in the workplace.  By providing WOC a safer place to work, we create thriving spaces for other people of color and ultimately the entire workforce. We understand the severity of oppression experienced by WOC from our day to day professional lives, and we take this with us to help create stronger allies and amplify the voices of people of color.

Workplaces have been struggling with a lack of inclusion prior to the pandemic, and unfortunately it is only going to get worse. Changes are occurring everyday, and the cultural climate that has protected old, white, rich men is being questioned unlike ever before. It is becoming more and more unacceptable to be ignorant of the racial prejudices that have excluded Blacks in particular from workplaces. Through a comprehensive year-long journey we facilitate new growth at your institution. Our business understands that taking a few racial injustice workshops is not going to save you. Throughout our year program we provide consultations, WOCShops, surveys, and resources specific to your organizational needs. We are here to guide you through the entire growth process. We will certify your workplace “A WOC Space” and others will know that you’re NOT a performative ally.  

In addition to our valuable 1 year program, we have built-in subscription events for BIPOC members. Specifically meant for BIPOC in your organization to find their voices and connect. We have weekly hangouts, co-working sessions, and BIPOC only monthly events. For example, this month (July) we are hosting ‘A Mental Wellness Retreat’, where we will have activities led by WOC instructors, featured guests, and a professional licensed therapist.
